Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tour suitable for me?

If you enjoy exploring hidden gems and secret destinations, this tour is for you. Kosovo and North Macedonia remain among Europe’s least explored destinations, while Albania is just gaining attention. Expect a relaxed pace with a touch of rustic charm. The fitness level is moderate, with walks through city centers, markets, and some uphill fortresses—comfortable shoes and a love for exploring on foot are a must.

The tour is in English. For special experiences, a local guide may speak in their native language, but we’ll provide translation into English.

We aim to select unique accommodations, either in rustic countryside settings or, when in a larger city, comfortable four-star hotels located near key sites so you can easily enjoy your free time.

Our typical group size is between 12–25 participants. This range offers enough people to socialise and connect, but not so many that you feel lost in a crowd.

Many of our participants are solo travellers, and you’ll have the opportunity to connect with others. You can choose to be paired with another solo traveller (subject to availability) or opt for a single room supplement.

As long as you take the usual travel precautions, such as staying aware of pickpockets in crowded areas and exchanging currency in official offices, there’s nothing to worry about! In reality, your biggest concern may be getting aorund the slippery cobbles of old towns in case it rains. These Balkan countries offer warm hospitality, where locals are genuinely excited to welcome and chat with visitors — something harder to find in more tourist-heavy spots.

Visa requirements for Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia depend on your nationality. Citizens from many countries, including those from the European Union, the United States, Canada, and Australia, generally do not need a visa for short tourist stays (typically up to 90 days within a 180-day period). While these are the general guidelines, it is essential to confirm the visa requirements with your local authorities, as rules may change. Travellers from certain countries may need to apply for an e-Visa or a traditional visa before arrival.

Please, ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. We recommend consulting your local embassy or consulate for the most accurate information.

While credit and debit cards are generally accepted, it’s strongly advised to carry cash, especially in Albania and Kosovo. Exchange offices and ATMs are widely available. Be aware that some local ATMs may charge high fees for foreign card withdrawals, regardless of the amount. Kosovo uses the Euro, Albania uses the Albanian Lek, and North Macedonia uses the Denar.  For traditional markets, cash is often the only option. Your tour host will assist you along the way.

We can accommodate most dietary needs, but we ask that you inform us at the time of booking to ensure we can make the necessary arrangements.

For the tour, we recommend bringing comfortable clothes for comfort during the day, a jacket for cooler mornings and evenings, comfortable walking shoes, perhaps a hat, and sunscreen. Most importantly, bring a positive attitude and a spirit of exploration – we want you to enjoy every moment of the experience!

Our cancellation policy is flexible, and partial refunds may be available. For details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions page. We strongly recommend getting travel insurance for such cases.
